WILDEN P420 1-1/2″ Stainless Steel AODD Pump & P430 Range

Six model names, one pump size. Once you can read a Wilden bolted model name, choosing between them gets much easier, so this article starts there.

Reading the name

• The first number is the size code: 4 means 1-1/2 inch.
• The last two digits give the ports: 20 is NPT threaded, 30 is ANSI flanged.
• P means the Pro-Flo air system; on these stainless builds the air side is polypropylene.
• PS means Pro-Flo SHIFT with a polypropylene air side.
• XPS means Pro-Flo SHIFT with an aluminum air side.

So an XPS430 is a 1-1/2 inch Pro-Flo SHIFT pump with an aluminum air side and flanged ports. PSG lists 110 stainless builds across the six models: P420 14, PS420 13, XPS420 36, P430 8, PS430 7 and XPS430 32.

What PSG publishes

All six pass solids up to 0.25 inch (6.4 mm). The jump in listed flow from the P versions to the PS and XPS versions is large, partly because the P builds above run a reduced stroke. Use the curve for your duty point, not the headline figure.

Note that the bolted 1-1/2 inch pumps are rated higher than the clamped P4 family at the same port size. If a P4 is struggling to reach the flow you need, an XPS420 or XPS430 may solve it without moving to a 2 inch pump.
