3 inch is the largest port size in Wilden’s stainless steel range. All four models use the Pro-Flo SHIFT air system: the clamped XPS15 and PS15, the bolted XPS1520 with NPT ports, and the bolted XPS1530 with ANSI flanges. PSG lists 62 stainless builds, 29 of them XPS15.
For the bolted pumps the published data is complete. Builds 15-13179 (XPS1520) and 15-12787 (XPS1530), both with Santoprene diaphragms, are rated at 271 gpm (1026 L/min) and 125 psi (8.6 bar) air, with solids up to 0.25 inch (6.4 mm) and 17.6 ft (5.4 m) dry suction lift. Each ships at about 264 lb (120 kg).
The clamped XPS15 and PS15 are a different case. None of the XPS15 or PS15 stainless pages we checked lists a maximum flow, so we will not invent one. What PSG does give is a sample duty: 492 L/min (130 gpm) against 2.8 bar (40 psig) discharge pressure, with 5.5 bar (80 psig) air and 144 Nm³/h (85 scfm) air consumption. Shipping weight is about 187 lb (85 kg).
The weight gap is worth a thought. A clamped XPS15 is roughly 77 lb (35 kg) lighter than a bolted 3 inch pump, and 11 of its builds have Tri-Clamp ports. For a pump that is moved between tanks or opened for cleaning, that combination is the practical choice. For a permanent line, the bolted XPS1520 or flanged XPS1530 is the more usual fit.
Temperature depends on the build. XPS15 builds 15-13161 and 15-12840 (Santoprene, aluminum air side) are listed from -40 to 225 °F (-40 to 107 °C), while the PS15 with its polypropylene air side runs from 40 to 175 °F (4 to 79 °C). An EPDM XPS15 build is listed up to 280 °F (138 °C).
Because the flow figures differ so much from one 3 inch build to another, we size these pumps from the duty point. Send us the flow, discharge pressure and liquid, and we will check them against Wilden’s curve.
