The request was short: a stainless steel chemical diaphragm pump, model QBK-25, body in 304 stainless steel with F46 diaphragms. QBK-25 is a model name used by other makers, so the first job was to translate it into our own range. That turned out to be simple. It is a 1 inch air-operated diaphragm pump, and our 1 inch stainless steel QBY with F46 diaphragms matches it. The pump was in stock and went out without waiting for production.
What is an F46 diaphragm?
F46 is the Chinese trade name for FEP, a fluoroplastic from the same family as PTFE. When a Chinese buyer asks for an F46 or ‘Teflon’ diaphragm on a diaphragm pump, this is what they mean. It is chosen for the same reason as PTFE: very wide chemical resistance, which makes it the usual partner for a stainless steel body on chemical duty.
304 or 316?
304 stainless steel handles most mild acids, alkalis and cleaning chemicals. Where the liquid contains chlorides, such as salt water or some acid mixtures, 316 is the safer choice because of its molybdenum content. Our QBYS stainless steel pumps are available in both, and the price difference is worth discussing before ordering.
What the 1 inch size delivers
- Flow up to 2.4 m³/h
- Head up to 60 m
- Suction lift up to 7 m
- Air consumption about 0.6 m³/min
If you have a model name from another brand, send it to us with the body and diaphragm material. In most cases we can match it from stock.
