The QBY5 is the fifth-generation QBY, and its headline change is the air-distribution valve. Older air valves could reach a “dead point” and stall; the QBY5 uses a three-way pilot valve that eliminates that dead point, so the pump keeps cycling smoothly and will not freeze mid-stroke.
In practice that means more reliable starting, steadier flow and less fiddling on the line — useful on continuous duties where an unattended pump must simply keep running. It keeps all the familiar QBY strengths: self-priming, run-dry, seal-less and spark-free.
