Thick, delicate or unstable fluids need a pump that moves them gently, and the QBY is about as gentle as pumps get. It handles viscosities up to roughly 10,000 cP and, because it simply draws fluid in and pushes it out, it barely shears the product — so emulsions do not break and solids stay suspended, not smashed.

That low-shear action is why the QBY turns up transferring peanut butter, chocolate, jams, adhesives and latex, where a centrifugal pump would degrade the product. It is also easy to flush and clean between batches.
