A QBY does not have to sit beside the tank — it can go into it. Fully submersible, it combines the roles of a submersible, self-priming and slurry pump in one unit, draining pits and sumps of corrosive, gritty or viscous fluid from the inside.
Because it is air-driven, submerging it carries none of the electrical risk of a powered submersible, and if the pit empties mid-job the pump just keeps stroking dry until more fluid arrives. Solids up to 10 mm pass through without jamming.
