Nitrile (NBR) is the everyday diaphragm material, and for oils, fuels and petroleum products it is hard to beat on value. It resists hydrocarbons well and stands up to abrasion, making it a sensible default for general industrial and petrochemical transfer.
An NBR-diaphragm QBY is a good economical baseline: fit it for oil, mud and non-aggressive slurry, and step up to FKM or PTFE only where solvents or strong acids demand it. This keeps spares costs down without risking chemical attack.
