YW Series Vertical Submerged Sewage Pump400YW1700-22-160 Large Vertical Sump Pump, 1700 m³/h
400YW1700-22-160 vertical sump pump: DN400, 1700 m³/h at 22 m, 160 kW, 82.1% efficiency. For main municipal pumping stations and large drainage.

Model: 50YW25-32-5.5
50YW25-32-5.5 DN50 vertical sump pump rated 25 m³/h at 32 m with a 5.5 kW motor. Why its 17–32 m working range matters when you select it.
| Flow Rate | 25m³/h |
|---|---|
| Head | 32m |
| Power | 5.5 kW, 2900 r/min |
| Inlet / Outlet Diameter | 50mm |
| Material | Cast iron as standard; SS304 / SS316 on request |
Customers sometimes ask us for a small sump pump with high head, because the wastewater has to travel a long way after leaving the pit. The 50YW25-32-5.5 is the model we normally offer for this. It delivers 25 m³/h at 32 m with a 5.5 kW motor at 2900 r/min, and the outlet is DN50.
The most important thing to know about this pump is its working range: 17 to 32 m.
We have seen high head pumps installed on short pipelines with very little resistance. The pump then works far to the right of its curve, pumps too much water and draws too much current, and after some time the motor trips or burns. Within its working range, the YW pump is designed so the motor is not overloaded. Below the range, that is no longer guaranteed. If your calculation gives less than 17 m, please choose a lower head model.
How to calculate the head: add the vertical lift (from the lowest water level in the pit to the highest point of the discharge) and the friction loss of the pipe at the design flow. If the result is close to 17 m, a valve on the discharge can be partly closed to bring the pump back to a better duty point.
Like the other YW pumps, it has a large flow passage impeller. On a DN50 pump it passes solid particles up to about 25 mm and long fibres several times the outlet diameter, so it can be used for normal sewage, not only clean water.
Not every high head job fits a standard model in the table. In 2024 a customer asked us for a long shaft sump pump for 10 m³/h at 30 m, with a 1.5 m shaft, stainless steel wetted parts and an explosion-proof motor. The liquid was sewage at normal temperature, and he wanted good passage for solids so it would not block. We quoted a 50YW10-30-3: DN50, 3 kW, SS304 pump end, double pipe installation with a 1.5 m submerged length and a mounting plate, driven by an explosion-proof motor. The first thing he asked for after the quotation was real photos of the pump, which is a fair question for any buyer, and we sent pictures of the same style of pump in our workshop.
So if your duty point sits between two models in our table, tell us the flow, head, submerged length, liquid and motor type you need. We can often build to that point instead of making you accept the nearest catalogue model.
