Product Overview

In a wastewater treatment plant, a lot of the pumping is large flow at low head, moving sewage from one tank or channel to the next. The 200YW400-13-30 is designed for this kind of transfer.

Main data

  • Flow: 400 m³/h
  • Head: 13 m (working range 6 to 13 m)
  • Motor: 30 kW, 1470 r/min
  • Efficiency: 73%
  • Outlet: DN200
  • Submerged length: 1 to 7 m

Typical positions are the inlet pump pit, the equalization tank and the transfer between treatment stages. The pump end works in raw or partly treated sewage, and the motor is on the tank cover or a steel frame above it. Operators can see and check all motors from the walkway.

Because the rated head is low, some customers think the pump can be used on any system. Please note the lower limit of 6 m. Below this, both flow and current rise too far.

For this size we usually supply the double pipe arrangement, with a separate support pipe and discharge pipe and a base plate under the pump end. Before starting the pump for the first time, turn the shaft by hand to check it moves freely, and check that the coupling alignment is within 0.5 mm. Most early bearing problems we see come from skipping these two checks.

About impeller material

Treatment plant projects sometimes come with their own material requirements. One water treatment contractor sent us an enquiry for a pump with a 1150 mm submerged depth, and his end user had specified an alloy impeller. We offered a stainless steel impeller instead, which is what we use for this kind of duty, and explained the reason. If your specification calls for a particular impeller or casing material, please include it in the enquiry so we can confirm what we can supply before quoting.

Typical Applications

  • WWTP inlet pump pits
  • equalization tanks
  • transfer between treatment stages
  • municipal sewage pumping
