For pumps of this size, customers usually come to us with a design institute’s drawing and a fixed duty point, so we will keep this page to the facts.
Rated performance
The 400YW1700-22-160 delivers 1700 m³/h at 22 m through a DN400 outlet. It has a 160 kW, 8 pole motor running at 740 r/min, and the efficiency is 82.1%. The recommended working head is 10 to 22 m.
Other models in the DN400 family
If the duty point is different, there are several other DN400 pumps in our table, for example 400YW1500-10-75 for low head, 400YW2000-15-132 for higher flow at medium head and 400YW1800-32-250 for higher head. We select by the system curve: the head required at the design flow, and the full range the station will operate in.
Installation
- A foundation and mounting frame strong enough for the weight and torque of the pump
- Coupling alignment within 0.5 mm before the first start
- Discharge pipe supported on its own supports, not on the pump
- Motor connected through a control panel with overload and phase failure protection
Maintenance is the same as for the smaller YW pumps: top up the oil chamber every 300 to 500 hours, check the wear ring when the flow drops, and investigate any new noise or vibration early. In our experience the usual causes are misalignment between the pump shaft and motor shaft, loose bolts at the drive, or air in the liquid.
Every pump is hydrostatically and performance tested in our factory before shipment. For a station project, send us the flow, head, pit depth and number of duty and standby pumps, and we will reply with a selection and the installation dimensions.
