This is one of the models we supply most often for buildings. A typical job is a sewage pit in the basement of an office or apartment block, where the sewage needs to be lifted to the street sewer.
The motor is fixed on the cover plate of the pit, in the dry plant room. It drives the pump end through a coupling and an extension shaft. The mounting plate can be round or square, so it can usually be matched to an existing pit opening.
Under the liquid, the shaft is supported by a lower bearing inside an oil chamber. The oil chamber is sealed by two mechanical seals in series with tungsten carbide faces. According to our design data, this seal arrangement allows more than 8,000 hours of continuous operation.
Please support the discharge pipe separately. The weight of the pipe should not sit on the pump.
We strongly recommend an automatic level control panel. It starts and stops the pump according to the water level in the pit and protects the motor. The pump should not be connected directly to the mains or switched with a knife switch. In a building where nobody watches the pit every day, the control panel is what keeps the pump safe.
