WILDEN XPS420 or XPS430? Threaded vs Flanged 1-1/2″ Pumps
Model: WILDEN XPS420 (NPT threaded) / XPS430 (ANSI flanged), Pro-Flo SHIFT FIT Series
Genuine WILDEN XPS420 (NPT) and XPS430 (ANSI flanged): the same 1-1/2″ bolted Pro-Flo SHIFT FIT aluminum pump, up to 132 gpm (500 L/min). Which one to order.
Short answer: order the one that matches your pipework. The XPS420 has NPT threads and the XPS430 has ANSI flanges, and that is the only real difference. Same bolted body, same Pro-Flo SHIFT FIT air system, same performance.
Wilden rates both at 132 gpm (500 L/min) and 125 psi (8.6 bar), with solids up to 1/4 inch and 19.5 ft (5.9 m) dry suction lift on the Buna-N builds. The flanged pump is a little heavier, about 62 lb (28 kg) against 56 lb (25 kg).
If you are comparing with the clamped XPS4, the flow difference is large for the same port size: 132 gpm against 82. That is often the reason people move to the bolted frame.
One practical note: many XPS420 codes end in /0651, a factory option package. Quote the whole code when you reorder. PSG lists 39 aluminum XPS420 builds and 26 XPS430 builds, with Santoprene the most common elastomer across both.
Genuine WILDEN 3″ Pro-Flo SHIFT aluminum pumps: clamped XPS15, bolted XPS1520 and flanged XPS1530 (271 gpm, 1026 L/min). How to choose between the three.
XPS1520/XPS1530 up to 271 gpm / 1026 L/min (61.5 m³/h)
Flow Rate (m³/h)
Max operating pressure 125 psi / 8.6 bar (XPS1520/XPS1530)
Head (m)
Compressed air, max 8.6 bar (125 psi), 3/4" FNPT air inlet
Genuine WILDEN T15, the 3″ Turbo-Flo aluminum pump (232 gpm, 878 L/min). Which parts wear in a rebuild, and how the build code tells you the right kit.
Up to 232 gpm / 878 L/min (52.7 m³/h)
Flow Rate (m³/h)
Max operating pressure 120 psi / 8.3 bar
Head (m)
Compressed air, max 8.3 bar (120 psi), 3/4" FNPT air inlet
