We have to start with a correction. The P8 is a 2 inch pump. It has been described as 3 inch in various places, including some older pages on our own website. Every aluminum P8 build has 2 inch ports.
With that settled, it is a solid workhorse. The clamped Pro-Flo design has been around long enough that you will find P8s on fuel skids, in tank farms and beside wastewater pits almost anywhere. For the Buna-N build 08-0111, Wilden lists 165 gpm (625 L/min) maximum, 125 psi (8.6 bar) maximum air pressure, 22.7 ft (6.9 m) dry suction lift and a 32 to 175 °F (0 to 79 °C) range. It ships at around 67 lb (30 kg), with a 1/2 inch air inlet.
Where the P8 shows its age is air. Wilden’s own example has it moving 102 gpm (386 L/min) against 2.8 bar (40 psig), and to do that it needs 5.5 bar (80 psig) supply and about 137 Nm³/h (85 scfm). If your compressor is busy, that number deserves attention, and it is the usual reason customers ask us about the XPS8 instead.
There are 36 aluminum P8 builds. PTFE is the most common elastomer, followed by FKM and Buna-N.
