Paint and ink punish the wrong pump three ways at once: they’re viscous, they’re often shear-sensitive (spin them too hard and you wreck the pigment dispersion), and they get changed constantly, so the pump has to flush clean between colours. Diaphragm pumps take all three in their stride.
The slow, gentle stroke moves thick, pigment-laden fluid without shearing it, the pump self-primes straight from a drum, and the simple flow path rinses through fast when you switch product. That’s why AODD pumps are a fixture in paint, ink, coatings and resin lines.
