WILDEN P8 2″ Cast Iron AODD Pump: P8, XPS8, PS8, T8

2 inch is where cast iron is most common in the Wilden range. Four clamped models share the size, and they use three different air systems: Pro-Flo on the P8, Pro-Flo SHIFT on the XPS8 and PS8, and the older Turbo-Flo on the T8. Wilden lists 89 cast iron builds: T8 33, P8 28, XPS8 25 and PS8 3.

All are rated for air up to 125 psi (8.6 bar). Wilden does not publish a solids figure for these clamped 2 inch iron pages.

Choosing between them

The Pro-Flo SHIFT pumps, XPS8 and PS8, give the highest listed flow and keep it even with PTFE diaphragms. The XPS8’s aluminum air side also handles a wider temperature range. The P8 is the established Pro-Flo pump, and its PTFE builds run a reduced stroke, which shows in the flow figure.

The T8 is worth a special mention. It is the largest cast iron group at this size, and on Wilden’s figures a T8 with Santoprene diaphragms is close to the P8. For a site that already runs T8 pumps, staying with the T8 keeps spare parts the same.
