In Wilden’s bolted range, a model number ending in 20 has threaded ports and one ending in 30 has flanges. The P230 and XPS230 are the flanged 1 inch pumps, with ANSI flanges on all 38 stainless builds (20 P230 and 18 XPS230).
Flanges matter most when the pump goes into existing steel pipework. A flanged pump bolts straight in, and it can be taken out for service without turning threaded joints that may have been in place for years. That makes it well suited to replacement work on a fixed line.
The two PSG pages we used are both PTFE builds. The P230 (02-11687) runs a reduced stroke and is rated at 44 gpm (167 L/min) with 11.4 ft (3.5 m) dry suction lift. The XPS230 (02-12963) runs a full stroke and is rated at 52 gpm (197 L/min) with 17 ft (5.2 m) dry lift. Both pass solids up to 0.25 inch (6.4 mm).
The XPS230 has an aluminum air side and a listed range of 40 to 220 °F (4 to 104 °C). The P230 has polypropylene and stops at 175 °F (79 °C). Shipping weight is about 54 lb (24 kg) for the P230 and 59 lb (27 kg) for the XPS230.
Before replacing a flanged pump, measure the flange or note its standard. ANSI and DIN flanges of the same nominal size do not have the same bolt pattern, and an adapter is not always practical in a tight installation.
