Multistage Pumps for Washing, High-Pressure Cleaning and Car Wash

Washing jobs need a small flow at a high pressure. The smaller CDL(F) sizes are made for that: the CDL(F) 2 reaches about 198 m and the CDL(F) 4 about 178 m.

An example

A wash line needs 4 m³/h at about 1 MPa, roughly 100 m of head. The CDL(F) 4-130 gives 103 m with a 3 kW motor.

Points for washing systems

• Nozzles closing and opening: use a pressure switch or a variable frequency drive so the pump does not run against a closed outlet for long
• Detergents: name them, so the seal can be checked
• Hot washing water: the hot water version handles up to 140 °C
• Pumps that start often should be sized so the motor is not overloaded at the open-nozzle point
