CDL(F) Pump Protector: Dry Running, Phase Loss and Overload
October 26, 2026 2 min read Haquan

A CDL(F) can be supplied with a protector that watches the pump and motor and stops them on three faults.
| Fault | What happens without protection | What the protector does |
|---|---|---|
| Dry running | The seal and the bearings lose their water film and are damaged quickly | Stops the pump |
| Phase loss | The motor hums, draws high current and overheats | Stops the motor |
| Overload | The motor runs hot and its insulation ages fast | Stops the motor |
When it is worth having
- Pumps that run unattended, such as booster sets and water treatment units
- Supplies that are weak or unreliable
- Pumps drawing from tanks that can run empty
Ask for it with the pump; it is configured at the factory.
