Product Overview
ZW40-10-20 delivers 10 m³/h at 20 m on 2.2 kW. Its suction flange is DN40 and its discharge flange DN32.
Why the two ports differ
A self-priming pump is most sensitive on the suction side. A larger inlet keeps the velocity in the suction pipe low, which helps priming and lets larger solids reach the impeller. On the discharge side the liquid is under pressure, so a smaller port is fine.
Planning the pipework
- Use a suction pipe at least DN40 and keep it airtight; one leaking joint can stop the pump priming.
- Keep the suction run under 10 m, with as few bends as possible.
- The discharge can stay DN32, or step up to a larger pipe on long runs to cut friction.
- Support both pipes so their weight does not rest on the pump. The catalogue is clear that the pump must not act as a pipe support.
