Product Overview

Proper shutdown of the ZW self-priming sewage pump is important to maintain the priming liquid in the pump chamber for future startups. The correct shutdown sequence is: first close the outlet flow control valve, then stop the motor. This sequence prevents siphoning, which can drain the liquid from the pump body.

If the pump has been used to pump thick or viscous slurries, flush the pump chamber with clean water after shutdown to prevent sediment accumulation. Run the pump briefly with clean water to clear internal passages, then perform the standard shutdown procedure.

For long-term storage, drain all liquid from the pump, disassemble and clean internal components, apply anti-rust oil to metal surfaces, and store the pump in a dry, ventilated location. Cover the pump to protect it from dust and moisture. Before restarting after extended storage, inspect seals, bearings, and impeller for deterioration.
