ZW Self-Priming Sewage Pump Installation – Suction Pipe Requirements & Foundation Setup

Correct installation of the ZW self-priming sewage pump is critical for achieving rated performance. The suction pipe should be as short as possible, with a maximum length of 10 meters. Use pipes with diameter equal to or larger than the pump inlet to minimize friction losses. Avoid unnecessary bends, elbows, and fittings in the suction line.

The pump should be installed on a solid, level foundation to prevent vibration and misalignment. For permanent installations, use anchor bolts to secure the pump base. Ensure adequate clearance around the pump for maintenance access. The pump should be located as close to the liquid source as practical to minimize suction lift.

For outdoor installations, protect the motor from direct rain and sun exposure. Outdoor-type motors can be installed directly outdoors, but providing a simple shelter extends equipment life. The pump can be installed with flexible connectors on both suction and discharge sides to absorb vibration and simplify pipe alignment.
