How to Operate ZW Self-Priming Sewage Pump – Flow Control & Monitoring Guide

Operating the ZW self-priming sewage pump correctly ensures optimal performance and long service life. After the pump has completed the self-priming process and begins normal discharge, adjust the outlet flow control valve to achieve the desired flow rate. The pressure gauge should indicate within the specified operating range.

During operation, regularly monitor the pump and motor temperature rise. If the temperature exceeds normal levels, check for issues such as overloading, voltage fluctuation, or blocked passages. Listen for unusual noises or vibration, which may indicate cavitation, bearing wear, or foreign object impact.

The pump should not be operated continuously at very low flow rates, as this can cause recirculation and overheating. If reduced flow is required temporarily, install a bypass line rather than throttling excessively. For automatic operation, the pump can be equipped with a control cabinet that monitors liquid level and protects against overload, phase loss, and leakage.
