ZW Self-Priming Sewage Pump – Pre-Operation Checklist & Startup Procedure

Before starting the ZW self-priming sewage pump, several preparation steps are essential for safe and reliable operation. First, check that the pump rotation direction is correct by briefly jogging the motor. The impeller should rotate freely without binding or unusual noise.

For initial use, remove the filling plug on top of the pump body and fill the pump chamber completely with liquid. Tighten the plug securely after filling. This initial priming is only required once; subsequent starts do not require additional liquid addition. Never start the pump with insufficient liquid in the chamber.

Open the outlet flow control valve before starting to facilitate air discharge during the self-priming process. After starting, adjust the outlet valve to bring the pressure gauge reading within the specified range. Avoid operating the pump continuously at the lower limit of the specified range. Monitor the pump and motor temperature during operation, and investigate any unusual noise or vibration immediately.
