There’s a simple test for when you’ve outgrown an aluminium or plastic pump: aluminium won’t stand the chemistry, and plastic won’t stand the temperature or the pressure. When you’re stuck between those two, stainless is the answer — and Wilden casts these in 316 across the whole size range, 1/4-inch up to 3-inch.
What you’re buying is corrosion resistance, the strength to run higher-pressure lines, and clean, smooth surfaces that food, pharma and electronics work all insist on. Put a PTFE diaphragm behind a stainless body and you’ve got a pump that’ll take some of the meanest fluids in industry and keep going.
