Buying Wilden Spare Parts: 7 Checks Before You Order

The wrong spare part costs more than the part. You lose the downtime, you pay freight twice, and you still don’t have what you needed. Nearly every wrong order traces back to a handful of skipped checks:

1. Read the data tag. Model (a T15 3-inch Turbo-Flo, for example), serial number and build code.
2. Go by part number and the exploded view, not by description. “Shaft” or “washer” can mean more than one part.
3. Check the material code against your fluid and temperature.
4. Ask whether it’s genuine, and get the manufacturer and country of origin in writing.
5. Ask about stock and lead time. “In stock” and “ships next week” aren’t the same answer.
6. Ask for a datasheet, drawing or catalogue page, photos and the material specification. A supplier who knows the part will have them.
7. Compare the commercial terms: unit and total price, FOB terms, payment terms, warranty, and how long the quotation stays valid.

How do you know a Wilden part is genuine? Get the supplier to confirm it in writing, compare markings and packaging with the manufacturer’s parts list, and treat prices far below the market with suspicion. For what it’s worth, everything we supply is original Wilden, for genuine Wilden pumps.
