This page takes the usual questions about servicing a 1/2 inch WILDEN pump one at a time, with the part numbers from the parts list. Every 1/2 inch part number starts with 01.
Which diaphragm do I need?
The one that matches the elastomer in your build code. The standard 1/2 inch diaphragms are 01-1010-52 Buna-N, 01-1010-53 FKM, 01-1010-54 EPDM, 01-1010-55 PTFE, 01-1010-56 Hytrel and 01-1010-58 Santoprene. A second PTFE design, 01-1030-55, is also listed, so if your old diaphragm carries a number, match that.
Why does a PTFE pump need two diaphragms?
PTFE is stiff, so it is backed by a rubber back-up diaphragm on the air side: 01-1060-51 Neoprene, 01-1060-53 FKM, 01-1060-54 EPDM or 01-1060-56 Hytrel. The back-up material is the last letters of the elastomer code; TNU, for instance, means PTFE with Neoprene.
And the valve balls?
Same material logic: 01-1080-52, -53, -54, -55, -56 and -58 for Buna-N, FKM, EPDM, PTFE, Hytrel and Santoprene.
My seats are metal. Which ones are listed?
01-1120-01 aluminum, 01-1120-03 stainless steel and 01-1120-04 Hastelloy. Plastic pumps use 01-1125-20 polypropylene or 01-1125-21 PVDF seats, and there is an FKM seat, 01-1120-53.
Can I order everything in one kit?
Yes. Wet end kit 01-9804 is listed for clamped metal P1, PS1, PX1 and T1 pumps (for example 01-9804-52 Buna-N, BNS), 01-9805 for the clamped plastic versions, and 01-9815 for the bolted plastic P100.
The pump stalls. What about the air side?
That depends on the air system. A Turbo-Flo T1 uses brass air valve 01-2000-07 and air repair kit 01-9980-07. Pro-Flo pumps with a plastic air side use air repair kit 01-9985-20, listed for P1 and P100, with air valve 01-2010-20 or the conductive 01-2010-25. A Pro-Flo SHIFT PS1 takes air valve 01-2030-01 and kit 01-9993-99.
