The Wilden air-operated diaphragm pump is an excellent choice for wastewater treatment and sludge handling applications. It can pump wastewater containing solid particles, sludge, slurry, and abrasive materials without clogging. The pump’s large internal passages and ball valve design allow solids to pass through freely without damage to the pump.
In municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, the Wilden pump is used for sludge transfer, filter press feeding, lagoon cleaning, and effluent pumping. Its ability to run dry without damage is essential for intermittent pumping where liquid levels fluctuate. The self-priming capability allows it to draw liquid from pits, sumps, and below-grade basins.
