Some buildings, factories and campuses draw their water from their own well. It is tempting to ask the well pump to supply the taps directly, but the usual design splits the job in two.
| Deep well pump | Booster set | |
|---|---|---|
| Job | Lift water from the well to a storage tank | Supply the floors at steady pressure |
| Runs | Long, steady runs to fill the tank | Follows the demand, minute by minute |
| Controlled by | Tank level | Pressure |
