Blog316 Stainless Pump Casing on a Cast Iron Base: A Practical Mix
Horizontal pipeline pumps built with a 316 stainless steel casing and a cast iron foot. Why you only need stainless where the liquid touches the pump.

Model: CDL(F) vertical multistage centrifugal pump
The CDL(F) stacks stainless steel impellers in one vertical pump for high heads in a small footprint. Construction, conditions and where it fits.
| Flow Rate | 2 to 150 m³/h |
|---|---|
| Head | Up to about 250 m |
| Power | 0.55 to 75 kW |
| Inlet / Outlet Diameter | DN25 to DN125 |
| Material | Stainless steel wetted parts |

The CDL(F) is a non-self-priming vertical multistage pump. A standard motor drives the pump shaft through a coupling. The stainless steel stages are held between the pump head and the base by tie rods and an outer sleeve, and the suction and discharge sit side by side at the base, on the same line.
Each impeller adds pressure. Stacking several in one pump gives heads that a single-stage pipeline pump would need a far larger impeller and motor to reach. The CDL(F) 4 family, for example, goes from 15 m with two stages to 178 m with 22, all at 4 m³/h.
An optional protector covers dry running, phase loss and overload. All 209 builds are in the CDL(F) selection table.
