Most sewage pumps are built for volume, not height. But plenty of real jobs are the opposite problem: you don’t need to move a lot of water, you need to push it a long way up — a basement three floors below the street, a riser to a rooftop collection tank. A shopping mall in Vietnam had its food-court waste collecting two levels underground, and their old pump kept stalling on rags and losing prime on the long vertical run.
