Submersible Sewage Pump Selection for 510 m³/h

A flow requirement of 510 m³/h is already a substantial wastewater pumping duty. At this size, selecting a pump by flow alone is not enough. The required head, solids characteristics, discharge arrangement, operating hours and electrical supply all need to be reviewed together.
The Project Duty Point
The project information supplied with this request includes a sewage pump duty of 510 m³/h at 16 m head for one submersible configuration, with motor options listed around 37/40 kW. It also includes a 510 m³/h at 35 m head duty for a dry-installed centrifugal sewage pump with 75/90 kW motor options. These figures are project requirements rather than a claim that one standard pump model will automatically meet them.
Hydraulic Passage at This Scale
For a submersible solution, the hydraulic passage is particularly important because wastewater can contain fibers and solids. The WQ/QW product information describes single-channel or twin-channel impellers and strong solids-passing capability. The exact impeller and pump size should be selected from the actual duty curve and solids conditions.
Installation Considerations
At higher flow rates, installation becomes a major engineering consideration. A fixed guide rail system may be suitable for a permanent wet well, while the discharge piping and support structure must be designed to handle the required flow. The pump station should also allow practical access for lifting and maintenance.
Motor Protection
Motor protection is equally important. The documented design can include leakage detection in the oil chamber, thermal protection in the stator winding and an automatic control cabinet. At this duty level, the starting method and electrical distribution should also be checked as part of the project design.
Electrical Supply
If the project power supply is 415 V, 50 Hz, the pump motor can be customized for that requirement. The final motor rating should be confirmed from the selected hydraulic model and operating point.
What to Send the Manufacturer
For a 510 m³/h project, buyers should provide the manufacturer with the required flow, head, number of pumps, duty/standby arrangement, solids information, discharge size, wet-well conditions and electrical supply. That information is enough to move from a general product discussion to a meaningful technical selection.
At 510 m³/h, small errors in the assumptions get expensive fast. It is worth having the pump curve checked against the actual duty point before anything is ordered.
