150QW180-15-15 Sewage Pump: Curve and Dimensions

Buyers comparing sewage pumps often ask the same few questions about a model. These are the answers for the 150QW180-15-15, a DN150 submersible sewage pump rated at 180 m³/h and 15 m with a 15 kW, 4-pole motor.

What does the curve show at the rated point?

On our factory test curve for the 150QW 15 kW 4-pole pump, the head at 180 m³/h is about 14.5 m, close to the 15 m rating. At zero flow the pump builds about 23 m. At 220 m³/h it still gives about 11.8 m, and at 295 m³/h about 5 m. These values are read from the curve, so treat them as approximate.

Where is it most efficient?

Unit efficiency, which covers the motor and the pump together, peaks at about 52% between 160 and 180 m³/h. The rated point therefore sits in the most efficient part of the curve. Input power rises from about 9 kW at zero flow to about 15.5 kW at the far end of the curve.

Why a 4-pole motor?

At 1450 r/min the impeller turns at half the speed of a 2-pole pump. For large volumes of sewage carrying solids, a lower speed generally means less wear on the impeller and the seals, and quieter running.
