Spare Parts to Keep for Pipeline Pumps

| Part | Why it wears | Keep in stock? |
|---|---|---|
| Mechanical seal | Dry running, grit, heat | Yes, at least one per pump type |
| Wear ring | Grit opens the clearance and flow falls | For pumps running long hours |
| Bearings | Normal wear, poor lubrication | For critical pumps |
| Impeller | Wear or damage from debris | For critical pumps |
| Gaskets and O-rings | Needed whenever the pump is opened | Yes |
| Vibration isolators | Rubber ages | Replace when hard or cracked |
Wear ring clearance matters more than it looks. When the gap between impeller and casing grows, water leaks back from the high-pressure side and the pump delivers less. A clearance of about 0.25 to 1.1 mm is the normal working range.
