2900 or 1450 r/min? Same Pipeline Pump Model, Two Speeds

From DN65 upwards, many frames in our range appear twice under the same model name: once with a 2-pole motor at about 2900 r/min and once with a 4-pole motor at about 1450 r/min. Halving the speed changes everything.
| Model | 2900 r/min | 1450 r/min |
|---|---|---|
| 65-200 | 25 m³/h, 50 m, 7.5 kW | 12.5 m³/h, 12.5 m, 1.1 kW |
| 100-200 | 100 m³/h, 50 m, 22 kW | 50 m³/h, 12.5 m, 3 kW |
| 100-315 | 100 m³/h, 125 m, 75 kW | 50 m³/h, 32 m, 11 kW |
The pattern
At half the speed, flow halves, head falls to a quarter and power to roughly an eighth. These are the affinity laws, and the table follows them closely.
When the low speed is the better choice
- Circulation loops that need flow but little head
- Quiet locations such as hotels and offices
- Liquids with a little grit, where lower speed means less wear
When you order, always give the speed or motor power with the model. Both versions are listed in the selection table.

Pipeline Centrifugal Pumps & CDL Multistage PumpsPipeline Pumps for HVAC Chilled and Condenser Water Circulation
Vertical inline pumps for chilled water and condenser water loops in HVAC systems: what sets the flow and head, and why closed-loop pressure matters.
Pipeline Centrifugal Pumps & CDL Multistage Pumps60 Hz and Special Voltage Pipeline Pumps and CDL Multistage Pumps
Pipeline and multistage pumps for 60 Hz and 380, 440 or 460 V supplies. Why a 50 Hz pump overloads on 60 Hz and what to send us.
Pipeline Centrifugal Pumps & CDL Multistage PumpsA, B and C Trimmed Impellers: Matching a Pipeline Pump to the Duty
The A, B and C at the end of a pipeline pump model mark trimmed impellers. How trimming lowers head and power, with the 40-250(I) family as an example.
