Product Overview

Natural rubber processing — big across Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam — produces an effluent that punishes pumps. Formic or acetic acid is used to coagulate the latex, so the wastewater is acidic, and it carries rubber crumb, coagulum scraps, serum and a notorious smell. For that, a stainless steel ZWL direct-coupled self-priming sewage pump is the sensible specification.

Acidic — so stainless

Because acid is used in coagulation, rubber effluent tends to sit on the low-pH side, and cast iron corrodes in it over time. The stainless ZWL, rated for roughly pH 2–13, holds up where cast iron wouldn’t. On a ribbed smoked sheet or block-rubber line, that material choice is what keeps a pump in service instead of failing every season.

Crumb and scrap, cleared

Rubber effluent isn’t just acidic — it’s full of coagulum bits, crumb and stringy scrap that block ordinary pumps. The ZWL’s non-clog passage clears solids up to about 60% of the port diameter and fibre up to five times it, so that material passes through. Self-priming and dry-mounted, it draws from the effluent channel or pit on its own, primes itself after the first fill with no foot valve, and stays accessible for cleaning.

Specs for rubber effluent

  • Material: stainless steel (pH 2–13) for acidic coagulation streams
  • Passable solids: up to ~60% of port diameter (crumb, coagulum)
  • Flow rate: 8–800 m³/h
  • Head: 10–80 m
  • Self-priming height: 4.5–5.5 m

Typical Applications

  • rubber processing
  • latex concentrate plants
  • block rubber and RSS lines
  • coagulation effluent
  • crumb and serum-laden water
  • acidic wastewater
