Which one to choose

The 2900 r/min build is lighter and smaller, and costs less. The 1450 r/min build is more efficient, primes faster and runs more slowly, so the impeller and seal wear less in gritty or fibrous wastewater. For continuous duty with dirty water, the four-pole build usually pays back. For occasional pumping, the two-pole build is often enough.
