ZW Self-Priming Sewage Pump Operating Conditions – Temperature, pH & Media Limits

Proper operation of the ZW self-priming sewage pump requires adherence to specified operating conditions. The ambient temperature should not exceed 45°C under normal conditions, with special versions allowing up to 50°C. The media temperature should be kept below 60°C for standard models, with special high-temperature versions handling up to 80°C or even 100°C.

Media pH limits depend on the pump material. For cast iron pumps, the acceptable pH range is 6 to 9. For stainless steel pumps, the range extends from 1 to 14, covering most acidic and alkaline applications. The media specific gravity should not exceed 1240 kg/m³.

The pump’s solid handling capability allows passage of suspended particles up to 60% of the pump inlet diameter and fibers up to 5 times the inlet diameter. The total weight of impurities in the media should not exceed 15% of the total media weight. The self-priming height must not exceed the specified 4.5 to 5.5 meters, and the suction pipe length should be limited to 10 meters maximum.
