Nobody orders a washer on purpose. It comes up when a joint weeps or a fastener won’t hold, and by then the pump is already in pieces.
The 15-6850-08 is the washer at position 18 on the T15 parts list. Its job is to spread the clamping load and keep whatever it sits under properly seated. After years of cycling it can flatten, crack or corrode, and one that looks fine on the bench isn’t always fine under load. Look at your exploded view to see where position 18 goes on your model, and count how many your pump uses before you order.
During a full rebuild, just replace them. They cost next to nothing compared with opening the pump a second time. A generic washer may look identical, but thickness, hardness and material can differ from the original.
