Wilden T15 Glyd-Ring Shaft Seal 15-3210-55-225

Most parts wear because something goes wrong. The shaft seal wears because it’s working. The shaft slides through it thousands of times an hour, and it has to keep the air where it belongs the whole time.

That’s the 15-3210-55-225, the Glyd-Ring seal on the Wilden T15 shaft where it passes through the center block. When it goes, the symptoms look bigger than the part: output and pressure fall, air use creeps up, air blows out of the muffler, cycling turns slow or uneven. It’s easy to go looking in the wrong place.

If you’re replacing it, a few things decide whether the new one lasts:

1. Look at the shaft first. A scored shaft will cut a new seal up fast.
2. Clean the bores completely before anything goes in.
3. Cover or guard sharp shaft threads and burrs so they don’t nick the seal edge on the way through.
4. Lubricate as the manual says.
