3 inch is as large as Wilden’s plastic pumps go. There are two models, both bolted with ANSI flanges: the P1500 (18 builds) and the PS1500 (29 builds), each in polypropylene or PVDF.
More than the names suggest. PSG’s figures for the P1500 (15-12777 polypropylene, 15-12670 PVDF) are 195 gpm (738 L/min) with air up to 100 psi (6.9 bar) and 12 ft (3.7 m) dry suction lift. The PS1500 (15-12601 polypropylene, 15-12609 PVDF) is listed at 271 gpm (1026 L/min), takes air up to 125 psi (8.6 bar) and lifts 17.5 ft (5.3 m).
So the PS1500 matches the largest metal 3 inch pumps on flow while keeping a plastic wetted path. Both pass solids up to 0.25 inch (6.4 mm).
Heavy. All four example builds ship at 275 lb (125 kg) in polypropylene or 335 lb (152 kg) in PVDF. These pumps need a fixed base, and lifting gear for service.
PTFE is the most common on both models. The PS1500 also has a good number of Santoprene builds, plus Bunalast, Hytrel, Buna-N and FKM options. A few builds combine a PTFE diaphragm with a rubber back-up.
For a large chemical transfer job, send us the liquid, flow and discharge pressure. At this size the choice between P1500 and PS1500 makes a real difference to both flow and air use.
