PTFE for the broadest chemical resistance, Santoprene (Wil-Flex) as the tough long-life all-rounder, Buna-N for oils and fuels, Viton for heat and aggressive hydrocarbons, Neoprene for specific duties. Fit the wrong one and it fails early; fit the right one and it runs for years.
