Aluminium is the sensible default when you need a metal pump but the fluid isn’t out to corrode it. Lighter and cheaper than stainless, tougher on pressure and temperature than plastic, and perfectly happy with oils, fuels, solvents, paints and a huge range of everyday industrial fluids.
That’s why aluminium Wilden pumps are so common on general transfer, drum and IBC emptying, and solvent handling. Where they don’t belong is strong acids or chloride-heavy fluids — that’s what the stainless and plastic builds are for, and we’ll say so if that’s your fluid rather than sell you the wrong thing.
