WILDEN P8 vs XPS8: 2″ Aluminum AODD Pump Upgrade

The port size and the clamped construction stay the same. Here is what changes when a P8 is replaced with an XPS8, based on the Buna-N builds 08-0111 and 08-14497.

• Flow goes up, from 165 to 185 gpm (625 to 700 L/min) maximum
• Dry suction lift goes up a little, from 22.7 to 23.8 ft (6.9 to 7.3 m)
• The air inlet gets bigger, 3/4 inch instead of 1/2 inch. Check your air hose and fittings
• The air side changes to aluminum
• The pump gets heavier, about 78 lb (35 kg) against 67 lb (30 kg)
• The rated temperature range moves to 10 to 180 °F (-12 to 82 °C) on this build

On air consumption, Wilden’s example for the XPS8 is 87 gpm (329 L/min) against 2.1 bar (30 psig), using about 75 Nm³/h (44 scfm) at 4.1 bar (60 psig). The P8 example is at a different duty, so the two numbers can’t be compared directly. Give us your duty point and we will compare them properly.

A small note on the list: of the 31 aluminum XPS8 builds, 08-16230 has no published description yet. It is still a 2 inch XPS8 and we can confirm its materials if you need it.
