WILDEN P220 1″ Stainless Steel AODD Pump vs XPS220

The 220 is the bolted 1 inch Wilden with threaded ports. Bolted pumps are held together with fasteners instead of clamp bands, which many plants prefer for pumps that run under pressure all day. There are three stainless versions. The table puts one build of each side by side.
| P220 (02-12725) | XPS220 (02-12927) | XP220 (02-11504) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air system | Pro-Flo | Pro-Flo SHIFT | Pro-Flo |
| Air side | Polypropylene | Aluminum | Conductive polypropylene |
| Diaphragm on this build | Santoprene, full stroke | PTFE, full stroke | PTFE, reduced stroke |
| Max flow | 56 gpm (212 L/min) | 52 gpm (197 L/min) | 44 gpm (167 L/min) |
| Dry suction lift | 13.6 ft (4.1 m) | 17 ft (5.2 m) | 11.4 ft (3.5 m) |
| Max solids | 0.25 in (6.4 mm) | 0.25 in (6.4 mm) | 0.25 in (6.4 mm) |
| Temperature | 40 to 175 °F (4 to 79 °C) | 40 to 220 °F (4 to 104 °C) | 40 to 175 °F (4 to 79 °C) |
| Shipping weight | 50 lb (23 kg) | 68 lb (31 kg) | 49 lb (22 kg) |
| Stainless builds | 57 | 36 | 4 |
Read the flow line with care. The three builds above use different diaphragms, and a PTFE build normally gives up some flow against a rubber one. The table is a fair picture of what each part number does, not a ranking of the air systems.
Pro-Flo SHIFT is the newer air distribution system. Wilden designed it to cut air consumption, which is the main reason to choose an XPS220 for a pump that runs many hours a day. The aluminum air side also gives the XPS220 the higher temperature limit.
The XP220 is a small group of four builds with a conductive polypropylene air side, three of them with PTFE diaphragms. It is normally bought as a like-for-like replacement.
If the flange is what you need rather than threads, the same pump is made as the P230 and XPS230.
