ZWL Self-Priming Pump for Pig Farm & Livestock Waste

Model: ZWL

Manure slurry, bedding and wash-water clog most pumps. A ZWL self-priming pump handles livestock waste from above the pit — here’s why farms reorder it.

Product Overview

We ship these to pig and cattle farms regularly, and the reason is simple: livestock waste is brutal on pumps, and the ZWL takes it. Manure slurry is a mix of solids, straw, hair, bedding and wash-down grit — stringy, fibrous and aggressive — and it wraps or corrodes anything that isn’t built for it.

The ZWL direct-coupled self-priming sewage pump is built for exactly this.

Pump from above the pit

On a farm you rarely want to drop a pump into the manure pit. The ZWL self-primes, so it sits on dry ground beside the pit and draws the slurry up — its 4.5–5.5 m self-priming height covers most pit depths. No foot valve to foul, and after the first fill it primes itself every start. When it needs a look, you service it above ground, not down in the waste.

The non-clog passage is what keeps it running: solids up to about 60% of the port diameter and fibre (straw, bedding, hair) up to five times it pass straight through, so the pump doesn’t choke on the stringy stuff that defines livestock waste.

Material for manure

Manure is chemically aggressive — ammonia and organic acids. Cast iron handles general farm slurry; where the effluent is more corrosive, the stainless steel body extends tolerance to about pH 2–13 and lasts longer. Either way it’s a compact, low-maintenance unit — which is why farms come back and order the same pump again.

Range for slurry duty

  • Self-priming height: 4.5–5.5 m (pump sits above the pit)
  • Passable solids: up to ~60% of port; fibre up to ~5× (straw, bedding)
  • Flow rate: 8–800 m³/h
  • Head: 10–80 m
  • Material: cast iron or stainless steel

Typical Applications

  • pig farms
  • cattle and dairy farms
  • manure slurry transfer
