Product Overview

Most self-priming sewage pumps are low-head machines. But some jobs need real lift — pushing effluent up a tall building, over a levee, or a long way across a site — and for those the ZWL direct-coupled self-priming sewage pump has genuine high-head models that reach 60 to 80 m.

The high-head models

When you need head, these are the ones to look at:

  • 80ZWL50-60 — 50 m³/h at 60 m (DN80)
  • 100ZWL80-60 — 80 m³/h at 60 m (DN100)
  • 100ZWL80-80 — 80 m³/h at 80 m — the highest head in the range (DN100)

These run on larger motors (22–45 kW) to make that head, and they still keep the non-clog, self-priming design — so you get real lift *and* the ability to pass solids and fibre, which is unusual in one pump.

Remember: total head, not just the vertical

When you’re pushing a long way, don’t size on the vertical lift alone. Friction in a long or narrow discharge line, plus every bend, adds head the pump has to overcome. A “50 m lift” job with a long pipe run can easily become a 60 m-plus total-head duty. Size the pump to the *total* head — vertical plus friction — with a bit of margin, or it’ll move less than you expected.

High-head ZWL models

  • Head: up to 60–80 m
  • Flow rate: 50–80 m³/h
  • Port size: DN80–DN100
  • Motor power: 22–45 kW
  • Material: cast iron or stainless steel

Tell us the vertical lift, the pipe length and the number of bends, and we’ll work out the total head and pick the right high-head ZWL.

Typical Applications

  • high-rise building drainage
  • long-distance sewage transfer
  • discharge over embankments
  • elevated outfalls
  • long pipe runs
  • hillside sites
