ZW Self-Priming Sewage Pump Bearing & Mechanical Seal Maintenance Guide

Regular maintenance of bearings and mechanical seals is essential for reliable ZW self-priming sewage pump operation. Bearings should be checked periodically for proper lubrication. Grease quality degrades over time; replace grease if it appears contaminated, dried, or discolored. Follow the manufacturer’s recommended grease type and quantity.

Bearing temperature should be monitored during operation. Excessive heat indicates lubrication problems, bearing wear, or misalignment. Normal bearing temperature rise should not exceed 40°C above ambient. If bearings run hot, investigate and correct the root cause before continuing operation.

The mechanical seal prevents leakage along the shaft. Inspect the seal area regularly for signs of dripping or weeping. A small amount of leakage during initial break-in is normal, but persistent leakage indicates seal wear or damage. Replace mechanical seals in pairs (rotary and stationary faces) to ensure proper mating. Always check shaft sleeve condition when replacing seals.
