Blog316 Stainless Pump Casing on a Cast Iron Base: A Practical Mix
Horizontal pipeline pumps built with a 316 stainless steel casing and a cast iron foot. Why you only need stainless where the liquid touches the pump.

Model: ISG vertical inline centrifugal pump
The ISG vertical inline pump installs like a valve: same-size ports on one centreline, impeller on the motor shaft. Its range, limits and typical uses.
| Flow Rate | 2.8 to 1200 m³/h (rated) |
|---|---|
| Head | Up to 128 m |
| Power | 0.55 to 250 kW |
| Inlet / Outlet Diameter | DN25 to DN400 |
| Material | Cast iron |

The ISG is a single-stage, single-suction vertical centrifugal pump for clean water and liquids with similar properties. Its inlet and outlet are the same size and sit on one centreline, so it can be bolted straight into a run of pipe, much like a valve. The impeller is mounted directly on an extended motor shaft, which keeps the unit short and the footprint small.
Our ISG range runs from DN25 to DN400, with rated flows from about 2.8 to 1200 m³/h and heads up to 128 m. Smaller frames run at 2900 r/min; many larger frames are also offered at 1450 r/min for quieter, lower-head duty. Every build is listed in the pipeline pump selection table.
Building water supply and boosting, cooling water, circulating water in plants and HVAC systems, and general clean water transfer. For hot water, the IRG version is used; for corrosive liquids, the stainless steel IHG.
