Product Overview

If you’ve ever pulled a pump out of a wet well only to find it wrapped in rags and wipes, you know the pain. The debate between a chopper pump and a grinder pump usually starts right there — at the clog.
How They Handle Solids Differently
A chopper pump (like our WQK/QG series) uses a rotating hardened blade against a fixed cutter to slice rags, ropes, and plastic into manageable chunks beforethey hit the impeller. It doesn’t turn everything into slurry; it just makes solids small enough to pass through the 25–150 mm outlet without jamming.
A grinder pump, on the other hand, tries to pulverize everything into a fine mash. Sounds good, but those grinding rings wear out fast when you hit grit, straw, or unexpected debris.

Why Chopper Pumps Win in Municipal Lift Stations

Less torque spike: Chopping is gentler on the motor than grinding.

Handles long fibers: WQK models shred 10 mm solids (rope, hair, wipes) without wrapping.

Gap adjustable: You can set the 0.2–0.5 mm clearance between cutter and base to restore performance.
