CDL(F) Vertical Stainless Steel Multistage Pump: How It Works

The CDL(F) is a non-self-priming vertical multistage pump. A standard motor drives the pump shaft through a coupling. The stainless steel stages are held between the pump head and the base by tie rods and an outer sleeve, and the suction and discharge sit side by side at the base, on the same line.

Why multistage

Each impeller adds pressure. Stacking several in one pump gives heads that a single-stage pipeline pump would need a far larger impeller and motor to reach. The CDL(F) 4 family, for example, goes from 15 m with two stages to 178 m with 22, all at 4 m³/h.

Operating conditions

  • Thin, clean, non-flammable liquids without solids or fibres
  • Standard version -15 °C to +70 °C; hot water version -15 °C to +140 °C
  • Ambient up to +60 °C, altitude up to 1000 m

Where it is used

  • Water supply: water works, zone boosting, high-rise buildings and hotels
  • Industrial boosting: process water, cleaning and high-pressure washing, car wash
  • Liquid transfer: cooling and air-conditioning systems, boiler feed and condensate, machine tools
  • Water treatment: ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, distillation, separators, swimming pools
  • Irrigation: sprinkler and drip systems

An optional protector covers dry running, phase loss and overload. All 209 builds are in the CDL(F) selection table.
